Today did not start out well for me, but it did end well. This morning, I was working with Miriam on her homeschooling. She did fine until we got to reading. She knows how to read and I am very happy with her reading level, but she either just does not like it or just won't do it. Reading is the hardest part of our day. She will hem and haw and come up with excuses not to do it. This morning she just would not read. She wouldn't even try. So she ended up having to sit in a chair until I was done with my grocery list. She would not sit and leave me alone so it escalated. She got grounded from the computer and there were many tears. It did finally end and after lunch we tried again. it still took her 30 minutes to read an easy reader. Not that she couldn't do it, but she wiggles and gets easily distracted and wants to talk about something else. Anyway, it was all the harder because we are taking a spring break the rest of this week and I just wanted it to be done today and get a break myself. This afternoon, we went to the Chickamauga Battlefield and hiked. We really had fun and Miriam found an old nail on the trail so she was really excited. I do have a goal of being much more active this pregnancy. So anytime it is a nice day, we will be going walking or hiking. Dinner tasted great tonight and now we are going to bible class. So "all's well that ends well".
